The Grave Side of Historical Mysteries: In Conversation with Sulari Gentill

  • Paperchain Bookstore 34 Franklin Street Griffith, ACT, 2603 Australia (map)

Join Sulari Gentill, author of the Rowland Sinclair series, and L.J.M. Owen, author of the Dr Pimms, Intermillennial Sleuth series, for a discussion of the graver side of historical mystery fiction, including deadly lessons unlearned and the reclamation of women’s history.

Through her Rowland Sinclair series, Sulari explores the 1930s rise of fascism in Australia and across the world. Unexpectedly, her novels have proven a disconcerting mirror of current world events.

Skeletal analysis and old fashioned sleuthing come together in L.J.’s series featuring archaeologist-librarian Dr Elizabeth Pimms. Each novel also contains the fleshed-out life of a neglected woman from history – an ancient Olmec athlete, a Mayan leader, a female Pharaoh.

Join both authors to discuss the serious side of historical fiction. Q&A session and signing to follow.

Bookings essential as seats may be limited.
