How to Mummify a Corpse: A Corpseless Explanation

  • Queanbeyan-Palerang Libraries 6 Rutledge Street Queanbeyan, NSW, 2620 Australia (map)

How did the embalmers of ancient Egypt mummify their Pharaohs? Join local Queanbeyan author Dr L.J.M. Owen to hear how their bodies were prepared, wrapped and encased in gloriously decorated coffins. Surrounded by spells from the Book of the Dead, the souls of the departed faced a series of challenges if they were to enter the afterlife and return to their mummified corpses at the end of each day.

This event celebrates the release of Book 3 in the Dr Pimms, Intermillennial Sleuth series, Egyptian Enigma. In her latest investigation, Dr Elizabeth Pimms seeks to identify the architect of the Golden Tomb? Between missing mummies, grave robbers, modern cannibals and jealous Pharaohs can she succeed?
